meet the owner: nate webb

Nate has been tattooing professionally since 2017. He specializes in black and grey, lettering, and tribal.

His graffiti background and love for letters is what sparked his interest in tattooing. As time went on, he developed a passion for black and grey portraits, falling in love with the process of watching them come together. Being half Filipino, he admires paying homage to his roots by keeping the art of tribal tattoos and designs alive; free-handing them on skin with sharpie to flow with the body and tell a story true to the client's history.

Nate spent 7 years in shops before opening up a private studio in January 2022 located in Seattle, WA. Since November of 2023, Mestizo Tattoos has been open to the public, accepting walk ins and being a hub for custom script lettering. He looks forward to growing with the local community and connecting with other POC creatives to help create opportunities for small businesses to thrive.

meet the apprentices: Christina diaz

HER FAVORITE STYLES OF TATTOOING ARE LETTERING, FINE LINE, BLACK & GREY, RELIGIOUS, AND ANYTHING CHICANO.

Christina began her apprenticeship over the summer in 2023. She grew up in Washington state and studied art in New York. Her biggest inspirations are jail love letters and fine line chicano art.

Since she spent time in LA she has taken lettering seriously after feeling its importance firsthand. She saw love letters written in these unique hand-styles and fell in love with the art form. Especially seeing how her brothers and sisters had to adapt to the art forms available to them behind bars, she has a profound respect for bic pen art. That is the same reason fine line is one of her favorites - single-needle tattoos from the penitentiary take a lot of skill to do, and our people have mastered it.
